Special Admissions for Full-Time SIAST Credit Programs
Applicants who do not possess the academic qualifications for the program they are applying for, may be admitted through a special admission assessment. This assessment may include a placement test or documented evidence of previous learning. 1. For special admission testing for math and English, ACCUPLACER testing is used as the assessment tool. ACCUPLACER is computer based testing and can be done at any regional college or SIAST campus. You must first apply for the program and receive a letter indicating that you must write the ACCUPLACER in order to be accepted. 2. Previous successful completion or partial completion of post-secondary certificates, diplomas and degrees from recognized institutions are indicators of student success and will be considered for meeting admission requirements. 3. Not all SIAST programs have special admissions and some programs require specific pre-requisites which must be met in order to be admitted under special admissions. For more information on Special Admissions, please contact the Administrative Assistant for Academic Programs:

Student Loan Program
About the Program:
The Canada Student Loan Program and the Saskatchewan Student Loan Program provide repayable and no-repayable financial assistance to full-time post-secondary students to supplement student and family resources. The amount of assistance awarded is based on financial need, according to criteria set out by the program. Eligible students are awarded a Canada Student Loan, which is repayable, and Saskatchewan assistance, which is issued initially as a repayable loan. At the end of each study period, eligible students are awarded debt reduction benefits to reduce their provincial loans. Both loans are interest-free while students are in full time post-secondary studies and during breaks from study, as long as the breaks are less than six months long. Interest begins to accrue on the loans at the end of studies. Loans become payable, with interest, starting six months after the end of studies. One application form is used for government-sponsored assistance. Applications forms for the Integrated Canada-Saskatchewan Student Loans Program are available in June of each year. This program is administered by the Student Financial Branch of Saskatchewan Learning.
Who Is Eligible:
While there are several criteria that students must meet and maintain to satisfy eligibility requirements, there are three that apply to all students. Basically, you are eligible to apply for student assistance in Saskatchewan if you are:
