“Capacity Building for Elected Officials and Municipal Employees”
As the world of municipal government continues to evolve, so must the skills of our municipal employees. To be truly responsible and adaptable to the needs of ratepayers, our municipalities are looking to not only retain their employees longer, but are recognizing the need to create strong training and development programs.
To help rural and urban municipalities in this goal, Southeast College has partnered with the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM) and Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association (SUMA) to deliver dynamic and informational leadership workshops that will help elected officials and municipal employees build on their core business, supervisory and leadership skills. A number of training opportunities will take place during the annual conventions and delivered at strategic locations throughout the province of Saskatchewan.
After the completion of three workshops, a Level 1 certificate will be awarded that is endorsed by SARM/SUMA and Southeast College; after six, participants will receive a Level 2 certificate; and after nine, participants will receive a Level 3 certificate.
Municipalities are encouraged to contact the College if they would like to host a workshop in their region.
