Oil & Gas Industry Worker
The Oil and Gas Industry Worker is a new program specifically designed with new and prospective employees for the oil and gas industry in mind. This program will give new recruits to the oil industry the background knowledge, terminology and general information that they will need to be successful long term employees within various aspects of the diverse oil and gas industry. The program will provide an introduction to the oil and gas industry with a primary focus on drilling and service rig operations in Southeast Saskatchewan.
Students of this program will receive industry standard safety certifications in First aid and CPR, H2S Alive, Confined Space, Transportation of Dangerous Goods(TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). Additional key training will also be provided in the areas of communication skills, financial management, resume writing and interview skills.
This program takes place at our state of the art Estevan Campus that includes onsite teaching tools that include a Confined Space simulator and an industry standard pump jack and well head display.
Students will take part in presentations from local southeastern Saskatchewan based employers and have the opportunity to ask questions about the oil and gas industry. A sample of employers could include: Independent Well Servicing (Estevan), Miller Well Servicing (Weyburn), Panther Drilling (Weyburn), Sun Country Well Servicing (Estevan), Jerry Mainil Ltd.(Weyburn)
The instructor for this program has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
