Plumbing Apprenticeship
Starting in January 2027, Southeast College will provide Level 1 Plumbing Apprenticeship at its Estevan Campus.
About Level 1 Plumbing:
Level 1 introduces the essential building blocks all plumbers rely on. Classes focus on foundational safety tools, and core plumbing concepts needed early in employment and is about foundations, not specialization
• Trade Safety: Safe work practices, WHMIS, lock-out/tag-out, PPE
• Tools & Equipment: Hand and power tools, access equipment, hoisting, welding, soldering, brazing
• Piping Fundamentals: Layout, measurement, supports, assembling common piping materials
• Plumbing Codebook: Introduction to drainage, waste and vent (DWV) systems and rough ins
• Graphics: Basics of plumbing drawings, symbols, and measurements
• Gasfitting (Introductory): Gas properties, codes, and basic natural gas piping
